The Islamic Research Network runs four public sites. This page describes what all four do with your data, because they share one account system and one set of practices.

Reading the sites

Reading a ruling, a research article or a guide requires no account and stores nothing about you. The pages are static files; there is no advertising and no third-party tracking script on any of them.

If you create an account

An account stores an email address, a password held only as a hash, and optionally a display name. It exists so that features which belong to a person — saved rulings, course progress — can find their way back to you.

The shared session

Signing in sets a session cookie scoped to the network's parent domain rather than to a single site. That is what makes one sign-in work across all four; it is not used to build a profile of your browsing, and it carries only the session token itself.

Deleting your account

Write to the network and the account and everything attached to it will be removed.
